Posted in Program & Events, Speakers on January 8, 2008 by administrator

alanruffman.jpg Alan Ruffman, Research Associate, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and President, Geomarine Associates Ltd. will speak on the investigation concerning Titanic’s “Unknown Child” on Saturday evening.  Mr. Ruffman is a well-known Titanic historian and author of several books including: Titanic Remembered: The Unsinkable Ship and Halifax.

A poignant YouTube offering has just been posted on January 2nd with a contemporary interpretation and musical selection regarding the unknown child, and is well worth a look at the link below.

On Saturday, on the way into Manhattan, our tour bus will detour to view the spectacular series of murals by Frank Millet, celebrated Massachusetts muralist who lost his life aboard Titanic.  These are located at at the Hudson County Courthouse.  The panel pictured above is titled “Paying for the Land, January 30, 1658″, and is among those we will see on Saturday.  (© 2007 Charles A.
