The original cover artwork for Walter Lord’s, “A Night to Remember” and Titanic third class passenger carl asplund’s pocket watch frozen in time at 2.19am.
Principal Lots to Include: The complete collection of titanic memorabilia of the last American Titanic survivor Lillian Asplund. This recently discovered unpublished archive reveals some of the most significant material relating to the disaster ever offered at auction. It comprises of paperwork and belongings recovered from the body of Carl Asplund, items from the aftermath of the sinking, photographs, legal correspondence and other family possessions. Letters and onboard Material from Titanic’s Printer Abraham Mishellany, Henry Wilde, Francis Millet, William Cherrett and Albert Crisp. A good collection of period Titanic postcards including a number of extremely rare examples. A signed photograph of the Carpathia’s Officers from the personal collection of Herbert Pitman. A unique account of the Titanic’s encounter with the Adriatic Mid Atlantic on April 11th. Two very rare menus from H.M.H.S. Britannic dated 25th and 26th September 1916.
