800 number booking now operational
Hotel fixes booking glitch
TIS’s trustees have received messages from several members who unsuccessfully attempted to book the special convention rate via the 1-800 telephone number indicated in the flyer distributed with Voyage 63. The problem was that TIS’s convention was not appearing on the reservation agents’ “Conventions and meetings” listing page. Apparently, TIS could only be located by an agent who entered our name manually.
We have contacted the hotel, and officials there have promised to fix this problem by Thursday, April 3.
Any members who experience difficulty in using the 1-800 number should contact the hotel directly at 201-210-7103 and ask for Anya who will be pleased to assist you.
The hotel’s management and your trustees apologize for any inconvenience this oversight on the hotel’s part may have caused.”

Good morning. I called for a reservation this morning (April 5) using the 800 number in the registration information and was not able to get the convention rate, but received the AARP rate ($141). I left a message for Anya to adjust the charge.
We were concerned that the convention was cancelled, but evidently it is still a go!
We attended in Mystic and Halifax and are looking forward to the convention in NYC!
