Titanic International Society convention registration deadline has now been extended to Tuesday, April 29. This applies to convention registration AND hotel reservations.

NOTE: If you have been having problems getting the “800″ line operators to give you the TIS convention rate, call the hotel’s own direct reservation number, (201) 210-7103, and ask for Annia.
Mr. Richard Faber will be joining the roster of distinguished memorabilia dealers in the vendor’s salon.

Convention updates

What promises to be one of the most intriguing and enjoyable TIS conventions ever needs just one thing to make it perfect — your convention registration!

Exciting new talk topics and speakers, new bus stop tours and a new convention venue will make this a most memorable weekend.

Three stellar speakers are in our lineup. Have you ever seen any Carpathia dinnerware? Cdr. Paul-Henri Nargeolet will present a fully-illustrated informal talk about the 2007 Carpathia expedition, showing us remarkable photos of her recovered artifacts.

Think you know all about Titanic’s final breakup? Think again! Engineer Roy Mengot will be presenting a radical new sinking scenario that will turn Titanic’s story literally upside down. You’ll be among the first in the world to hear of this major rewrite!

The identification of Titanic’s unknown child — the most poignant of stories — has taken dramatic new turns, and Canadian researcher Alan Ruffman’s update marks one of its first American presentations.

Our famous bus tour features plenty of new stops: Murals by Titanic artist Francis Davis Millet, perhaps his last commissions; A dramatic and beautiful plaque to Titanic’s Dr. Francis W. F. N. O’Loughlin — see it now before it goes into storage prior to St. Vincent Hospital’s demolition! A visit to Woodlawn Cemetery, where no fewer than six Titanic people are at rest.

Nautical memorabilia dealers will be on hand. And so much more!

Online booking of hotel and convention is now fully operational through our weblog. Go to our website, www.titanicinternationalsociety.org, and click on the “Convention 2008″ link.

The registration deadline is rapidly approaching and your convention committee needs an accurate headcount. Please take a moment now, and arrange your participation in a truly remarkable convention, filled with friendship, learning and fun, in one of the world’s most exciting cities! See you there!
